New - team chat, included in every plan

Your team's chat,
right where your HR lives.

Channels, direct messages, threads, files and search - everything your team uses a chat app for, built into iHRMS. Team channels follow your org chart on their own, and a leave request, ticket or laptop dropped into a conversation shows each person exactly what they are allowed to see.

  • No extra per-user cost
  • Channels that follow HR
  • One sign-in, one app
$0 Extra - team chat is in every iHRMS plan
1 App and sign-in for HR, approvals and conversation
0 Channel members to add or remove by hand when people join, move or leave
6 Kinds of HR record you can drop into a message

The difference

Stop running your team from two apps. Talk where the work is.

A separate chat tool knows nothing about your company: who is in which team, who just joined, who left last Friday, or who may see a salary review. iHRMS knows all of it - so its chat does too.

With a separate chat app

  • Someone remembers to add every new hire to the right channels - or doesn't
  • When a person moves team, their old channels keep them and the new ones miss them
  • A link to a leave request shows the same preview to the whole channel
  • Another app, another sign-in, another per-user bill
  • "Where's that request?" means switching apps to find it

With iHRMS Team Chat

  • New hires land in their department and branch channels the moment HR adds them
  • Moves and leavers update channel membership on their own, straight from HR records
  • Each reader sees a record as iHRMS allows them - or "Restricted item"
  • Included in your plan, with the same sign-in your people already use
  • Tickets, leave, tasks and assets open with one click, with their live status

Everything you use chat for

All the chat your team needs. None of the setup.

The everyday things people expect from Slack are all here - and they work the moment your company is on iHRMS.

Channels & direct messages

Public and private channels, one-to-one and group messages, and a #general everyone is in from day one.

Threads

Reply in a thread to keep the channel tidy - or tick "also send to the channel" when everyone should see it.

@mentions, @channel, @here

Type @ to pick a person; @here reaches only who is online. Mentions are highlighted and counted.

Unread counts & notifications

Bold conversations, badges, a "New messages" line, desktop notifications and an email for anything you missed.

Files

Images, Word and Excel, up to 10 MB each - shown only to the conversation's members, listed in its details.

Formatting & link previews

*Bold*, _italic_, ~strike~, `code`, code blocks and quotes - and a preview card for links.

Reactions & pins

React with an emoji, pin what matters, and find every pinned message in the channel details.

Search

Every message and file, with filters: in:#channel, from:@name, has:file, has:ticket, before: and after:.

Saved & reminders

Save a message for later, or ask to be reminded in an hour, tomorrow morning or next Monday.

Stars & sections

Star the conversations you live in and sort the rest into your own sidebar sections.

Online & typing

See who is online and when someone is typing - live, without refreshing.

Per-conversation settings

Every message, mentions only, or mute - chosen by each person for each conversation.

Only possible inside your HR system

Drop in a leave request. Everyone sees only what they should.

Type + in any message to link a ticket, project, task, asset, client or leave request - or just paste its iHRMS link. It shows its live status, and opens straight to the right page. What it shows is decided for each reader, by their own access in iHRMS.

What HR sees

🌴 Sara Malik Β· Sick leave Β· 12 – 14 Nov Β· Approved

HR can open the request, so the link shows who, what kind of leave, the dates and where it stands now.

What a colleague sees

πŸ”’ Restricted item

A colleague who cannot open Sara's leave sees that something is linked - never its title, and never the reason for it.

Works for tickets, projects, tasks, assets, clients and leave requests. Notifications and emails only ever say "[Ticket]" or "[Leave]" - never the title.

Channels that follow your org chart

HR updates the record. Chat updates itself.

Switch on department and branch channels once. From then on, iHRMS keeps every team channel's members in step with your HR records - nobody maintains a list.

  1. 1

    HR makes a change

Ravi is hired into Engineering, Lina moves from Sales to Finance, Tom resigns.

  2. 2

    iHRMS updates the channels

Ravi joins #team-engineering, Lina leaves #team-sales for #team-finance, Tom drops out.

  3. 3

Everyone is in the right place

No forgotten new hires, no leavers still reading the team channel, no tickets to IT.

iHRMS chat and Slack

Why teams on iHRMS don't need a separate chat app

Slack is a great general-purpose chat tool. iHRMS Team Chat is built for one company's own people, inside the system that already knows them - and that changes what it can do.

iHRMS Team Chat A separate chat app such as Slack
Cost Included in every iHRMS plan, for everyone already in iHRMS. A separate subscription, billed per user on paid plans.
Team channels One per department and branch, created and kept in step with HR records automatically. Created by hand; membership kept up by people or an identity-provider sync.
Joiners, movers, leavers Added, moved and removed the moment HR updates the person. Someone has to add, move or remove them - or set up a sync.
Linking HR records Leave, tickets, tasks, assets, projects and clients - shown to each reader by their own access, with live status. A link preview that looks the same to everyone in the channel.
Who is who Names, photos, departments and managers come straight from iHRMS - nothing to keep in sync. A separate directory and profiles to keep up to date.
Sign-in & admin The same iHRMS sign-in, roles and admins you already have. Another app to provision, secure and manage.
Where data lives In your iHRMS, beside the HR records it talks about. In another vendor's system.
Notifications & approvals Chat, the bell and the approvals inbox in one app. Notifications from other apps arrive as bot messages.

Being straight with you: iHRMS chat has no voice or video calls and no guests from outside your company. If you need those, keep your meeting tool - iHRMS already books Google Meet and Microsoft Teams interviews - and you can keep Slack for notifications too. Slack is a trademark of its owner; iHRMS is not affiliated with it.

How it helps

Better for everyone who runs, or works in, a team

01

HR

Announce to the whole company in #general, discuss a request with the leave itself linked, and never chase IT to fix channel membership after a restructure again.

02

Managers

A team channel that is always right, threads for each topic, and the ticket, task or leave request in the conversation - with its status - instead of a screenshot.

03

Employees

One app for payslips, leave and their team. Save a message for later, get reminded, and find any old conversation or file with search.

04

Finance & IT

One less subscription to pay for per person, one less app to secure, and access that follows HR records rather than a checklist.

Questions

Everything people ask us

Does team chat cost extra?

No. Team chat is part of iHRMS, in every plan, for everyone you already have in iHRMS. There is no separate per-user chat subscription.

Can we have calls or huddles?

Not in iHRMS chat - it is built for messages, threads and files. For voice and video, keep using Google Meet, Microsoft Teams or Zoom; iHRMS already books interviews with Meet and Teams links.

Can people outside the company join?

No. Chat is for your own people only - there are no guests or shared channels with other companies, so nothing said in chat can reach outside your iHRMS.

Who can see a leave request or ticket posted in chat?

Each reader sees it as iHRMS lets them. Someone allowed to open it sees its title and live status; anyone else sees "Restricted item" - never the title.

How do department and branch channels work?

A Company Admin switches them on. iHRMS creates a private channel for each department or branch and keeps its members in step with HR records: a new hire joins, someone who moves teams switches channels, and someone who leaves drops out.

What files can be shared?

Images, Word documents (.docx) and Excel workbooks (.xlsx), up to 10 MB each and five per message. Files are only ever served to members of the conversation.

Can we search old messages?

Yes, all of them, with filters like in:#channel, from:@name, has:file and before:/after: dates. Search only ever looks inside conversations you belong to.

Will people miss messages?

Unread counts on every conversation and on the chat icon, desktop notifications, and an email when a direct message or mention has gone unread for 10 minutes. Everyone chooses per conversation: every message, mentions only, or muted.

Can we keep using Slack for some things?

Yes. iHRMS can still send notifications and approvals to Slack. Team chat is there for the conversations that belong next to your HR data.

Does it work on a phone?

Yes, in the browser on any phone or tablet - the conversation list and the conversation take turns on a small screen.
